Outside and Garage

Happy Tuesday! Today I'm going to share pictures of the outside of the house and inside of the garage.

This is a picture from the street. I just love this cute little house!

A close up of the porch and the landscaping that I have no plans of improving. Since we are renting, I just don't think it would be worth the work to improve! We may get a swing for the porch, but we are waiting to see if we actually find ourselves wanting to sit out here. So far, we have mainly used the chairs on the back patio.

Speaking of the back patio, here it is! This is a view from the corner of the yard. So it's not very big, but it's big enough to have people over and hang out but not so big that it's a pain to mow and maintain :)

Here is the garage! We still haven't picked up hooks to hang our golf clubs, weedeater, and Ashley's bike she left, but we will eventually. It will be so nice to park in the garage when winter comes! I'll have to get Taylor a nice shovel to clear the driveway for me. Haha :) Just kidding!

This is the view when you open the door inside the house and look to the right.

This is the view from the left. My car takes up a lot of the space, but we make it work!

Hope you are enjoying the tour :)

Guest Bath and Pantry

Here is the start to our Tour of Homes! I probably should have started with the outside of the house, but oh well. It will come eventually! Here is a look at the guest bathroom and pantry.

I picked up this new shower curtain for the guest bathroom and really like it! Laine is going to hem it for me, but we just haven't had time. It's nice to have two showers when we have visitors. There is a door to the right of the tub that leads into the guest bedroom. This is a view in from the front hallway. And yes, it's green. I just naturally gravitate toward the color green so you will notice that a lot of our house is shades of green and brown.

Sink and towel rack. The flowers on the center towel match the curtain which was a nice surprise since I already had the towel! Our landlord left the flowers and I really liked them, so I figured why not use them?! Eventually I want to get something to put on the walls, but I'm waiting until I find something I really like.

Here is the closet in the bathroom! It's nice to finally have some storage space. And no need to bring towels when you come to visit, we have plenty! Ha :)

This might be one of my favorite things in the house! It's so nice to have a nice big pantry to put stuff in. You will notice that our kitchen isn't huge, so being able to put all of our food and extra stuff in here really helps.

It also has this little area on the right that I put our old microwave stand. I think we may get a bigger shelf at some point.

See you next time for the outside and garage (most likely)!

New Toys

Hope y'all have had a nice weekend! This was our first weekend to have nothing planned and it was wonderful :) And just a little something random, because I like remembering some of our "firsts"... It hasn't rained here in so long that I don't think we've mowed in the last two weeks. And since we are just renting, having a lush green yard isn't a big priority right now. But tonight we decided that maybe we should a least run the mower over the yard since there were one or two patches that were getting a little long. So Taylor got to try out a couple of his new "toys"!

I never knew how much of a difference weed-eating can make to the look of the lawn! I'm pretty sure that Ashley, our landlord, had NEVER weed-eated the yard. Ha! I should have taken a before and after picture, but like I said, I had no idea it would look so different. We had planned on going tonight and picking up some hooks to hang up the weed-eater and blower, but just ran out of time. We don't have a ton of room in the garage so that will help a lot with space.

I am thinking that this coming week I am going to post pictures of the house!(Sorry it's taken me so long!) We have most everything put away at this point, and if we make changes to a room I will just update the photos. So check back soon for our Tour of Homes! :)

Frustration

Do you know what frustrates me? Laundry. But not everything about laundry, just the part after you have folded all the shirts and hung everything up and you're left with a pile that looks like this...

And then you have to pick up a sock and dig through the pile to find its match and eventually you end up with a pile that looks like this...

You would think the frustration would go away once you reach this point, but it doesn't. And do you know why? Because it never fails, when you wash socks you always end up with this...

Can I get an amen?! Ha. Oh well, I'm sure it will turn up one day :)

Makeover

Well, as you can see, I have updated the look of the blog! I have wanted to change it for a long time and searched for some new backgrounds I liked, but could never figure out how to upload them. I know, I know, I'm a college grad and can't figure out how to upload a background. Oh well, I finally figured it out, as you can see! Ha. I am now working on editing a cool new header that I found, but once again, that is proving to be more difficult that I thought. Maybe in another year I will figure that out :)

We had a bunch of leftover apples from the 4th of July party so Taylor decided to make homemade applesauce today!

Yummy! Our house is smelling delicious right now! We both love applesauce and really enjoy making it. Here is the recipe we use...

8 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (or cut into chunks)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c water
1/2 - 1 c sugar, or red hots (we use a little of both!)

1. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker.
2. Cook on low 8-10 hrs or high 3-4 hrs.

We made a day trip to STL yesterday to watch the Cardinal's game and play golf (sorry, I forgot to take pics)! We even came home with something we did not anticipate, but until I can take some good pictures I will just have to leave you hanging... Now that wasn't nice was it? :) Hope you all have had a nice weekend!

Currently Listening To...

Most of you probably know, but Taylor and I LOVE Marc Broussard! We have seen him in concert twice and are thinking about seeing him again soon. Well, he just put out a new self titled album and it is awesome! We have been listening to it non-stop for the last couple weeks. That seems to be our trend with new music! So this is just random, but if you are looking for some new music, I suggest you check it out. Here are a couple YouTube videos of some songs we really like...

Enjoy!

Still Here!

Yes, I'm still here! Between moving last week and just getting our internet setup today, blogging has kind of gone on the back burner. Here are a few photos to tide you over until I set down and write about everything we have had going on!

The newest addition to our house! I love love love this chair. We never had enough seating in our apartment and always said we would get a new chair someday, well last Saturday was the day!

And this is Taylor's new favorite position! Ha. I had to remind him that the recliner is his chair and this one is mine :)

All the food we had for our 4th of July cookout! This isn't a great picture to show how much we had, but we have been eating burgers and fruit all week. Ha! I'll do a more detailed post of the party soon.

And just something random.. we are getting an ULTA! Wahoooo! I love Ulta and have always wondered why CU didn't have one, but that will be remedied soon. When I told Taylor they were opening on close to the house, his response was, "Well, I just saw money go out the window!". Ha! Myself and another girl at work (who just moved here from Chicago) were so excited about this the other day, and all the other ladies thought we were crazy. But after we explained the awesomeness of Ulta, they all are very excited now as well!

I will update and show pics of the new house soon! Hope you had a nice 4th of July. Tomorrow is Friday, yeah!
