New Do!

If you have known me for, lets say, the last 10 years, you have probably noticed that I don't change my hair style. Like, at all. I may put a couple highlights in it every few years (and except for that blonde period I went through as a junior in high school, which was WAY too much up-keep), it has pretty much always been brown and one length. Well, I decided it was time for a change. I still kept it long, but I did get...

BANGS! I apologize for the awkward looking photo. It's hard to take a photo of yourself! It is not a huge change, but I think it does add a little more volume around my face. My hair is naturally straight, and when I say straight, I mean straight. Most days I don't even use a straightener, which can be nice and I'm not complaining, but by the end of the day my hair just looks so dull. So I took the plunge and got a new do! Ashley, the girl who is cutting my hair up here, kind of talked me into it but I like it and Taylor likes it so I guess that's what matters :)

Squeaky Clean

We are about two weeks away from moving into our rent house! I can't tell you how excited we are. We had the house cleaned and the carpets steamed and it feels so clean when you walk in now! Here are a few pictures of the inside...

I am sooooo excited to finally have a walk-in closet! In our current closet, you can't even reach all the way in the back. This will be so much better.

The kitchen! We painted that green wall last week and I really like the color. It was a super dark brown before and made the kitchen seem very dark.

A view from the entry hallway into the living room. The big window and sliding glass door make the living room really bright! That will be a nice change from our current apartment and its two tiny windows.

I think we are going to start moving small stuff over later this week and throughout next week. Our families are coming up 4th of July weekend to move the big stuff and for a BBQ! We can't wait :)

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to the two fathers in our lives! We love you both so much :)

Also, thanks in advance for coming up in a couple weeks and moving all of our junk! Haha We couldn't do it without y'all!

Life through the iPhone

Hi! I'm going to ignore the fact it's been 2 weeks since I posted and, once again, just share with you some pictures I have on my phone!

We played in the station's Golf Outing on Friday and had a lot of fun! What's better than free golf? Haha I think our scramble team, which had two women on it!, ended up getting 6th out of 22 teams. I would say that was pretty good since Taylor was our only good player :)

We finally got to eat the top of our wedding cake last weekend in Tulsa! It has been in my parent's freezer and we haven't been able to make it back since our anniversary. So we let it thaw and it was still delicious!

I was so happy it still tasted good! I was going to be disappointed if it didn't! Way to go mom on wrapping it so well :)

This is random, but look at this yummy dessert Laine made! It was an Oreo and cream cheese dirt pie with gummy worms. She put fake flowers in it to make it look more like dirt. How creative is that?

For the past two weeks we have been having problems with our air conditioner. Our management has not been prompt in fixing it like they should be, so we have been stuck only cooling our bedroom with this window unit!

Last week it was really hot in CU and our apartment was almost 90! It's a completely ridiculous situation and our management has received a piece of our mind more than once. To make a long story short, it should be fixed by Monday and we are getting out of our lease early! :) Yay!

Over Memorial Day weekend, Julia and John David came to visit and we ended up going to STL to watch a Cardinals game and hang out!

The Cardinal's needed a rally at the end so Taylor put on my hat! And no joke, he put on my hat and the next pitch the Cards hit a home-run! Haha It was very funny :)

Sadly, they didn't win but it was a lot of fun and hopefully we can go see some more games in the future!

We played A LOT of darts at Blueberry Hill! We never knew how much we liked darts and now we want one for our house! Ha.

My arm was soooo tired after two days of darts! We played Julia and Taylor vs. John David and me, and sadly Julia and Taylor won. But we also played a lot of spades that weekend and JD and I won that competition!

Well, those are the photos I have taken over the last few weeks! We have also been traveling the last two weekends as well, going to weddings, but I forgot to take photos at those. It was nice to spend time with both sides of the family and be back in OK and AR! We like Illinois, but it's just not the same :)

Taylor is playing in the U of I Open this weekend and is actually tied for 5th right now, so hopefully he will do well again tomorrow! Have a nice weekend!
